Oops! Hayley and Tyler Hubbard Announced the Wrong Sex at Their Gender Reveal!
Hayley and Tyler Hubbard threw an absolutely adorable "dirt bikes or diamonds" gender reveal party to announce their first baby's sex. The party was perfectly planned (and chock full of inspiration for other parents-to-be!), but the sweet couple got one element wrong: They announced they were expecting a baby boy....but in reality, Hayley is carrying a girl!
You're probably scratching your head right now, but here's how it happened: The Florida Georgia Line musician and his wife had a blood test that suggested they were having a baby boy, at which point they revealed the big news. But as it turns out, the blood test wasn't totally accurate (that can happen, believe it or not!), and the couple just learned that it's actually a girl!
This story might sound crazy, but it's not a totally unique situation. We imagine the couple took advantage of the NIPT test, a non-invasive blood test that can tell you your baby's sex (and other important genetic information) with remarkable—but not perfect—accuracy. It appears Tyler and Hayley's test got it wrong, though, and we're guessing an ultrasound gave them their real results. It all begs the question....should you announce your baby's sex before you've confirmed it with an ultrasound?
